FACILITIES MANAGER
This job commonly stays with the president, the CEO, or the COO until a company is quite large. It might be that some of the requirements of this position may be split up among others, but those would generally report to someone near the top.
Facilities Management Would Include:
Location Of Any Buildings Or Other Real Estate
Design And Layout Of All Facilities

Depending on the nature of your business, the location of a building and signage might be a huge decision with a major impact on sales…or not. Design and layout impact customer flow for some, workflow for others, and quality of life for every company. Security is becoming a bigger and bigger issue. Decisions regarding locks, glass, overhead doors, security cameras, transport of cash, or other valuables can have a huge impact on the willingness of customers or even employees to come to the building.
Insurance and security are huge ongoing issues for many companies, so we have devoted specific pages to each.
